Over the past 7 years I have continued with our books and accounting, for all three of our corporations. I am the person you will speak to for scheduling students and often your first contact about scheduling events. I work closely with our instructors and students, working to get the right fit, so that our students will grow and achieve their musical ambitions. At our Student Nights (the night all the hard work really pays off), you will usually find me collecting admission, behind the video camera, and running around getting pictures of our performers. I enjoy posting these to Facebook, but mostly, enjoy watching our students grow. You will find my two boys playing most Student Nights as well. I love that they have inherited the love of music and am excited each time they perform.
Being Gary Rhum's daughter, I am asked quite frequently what instrument I play, or if I sing. I call myself a “carrier” of the music gene. I may not play an instrument, but music has always been a huge part of my life. I believe music can enhance the happiness in your life, and it can help you cope with anything life brings your way. Music is always being played in my home, if not by my children, a CD is playing or Pandora is on. My job at Rhum Academy is to make sure things run smoothly, from taxes being paid on time or managing instructors and room schedules to accommodate our many students, to managing our website and everything in between. 98% of my job is done behind the scenes to insure our instructors can concentrate on each student to give them the very best instruction each time.
I know first hand how important each student is to all of us at Rhum Academy. Our instructors are the best in the business, their hearts and lives are full of music and they are grateful to share with our community. I am grateful for the opportunity to work here, in such a wonderful, magical place. I am very proud of my father and excited to see his vision continue to grow.
